PCM boys take down West Central Valley, Albia

STUART — Junior Misha Seebeck scored his sixth goal of the season and the Mustangs claimed their second win in three games May 15 during a 3-2 non-conference victory over West Central Valley.

Seniors Chase Kuecker and Zac Read both scored goals, and senior Graham Davis chipped in an assist as the Mustangs improved to 4-9 on the season.

PCM led 2-1 at halftime. The Mustangs went up 3-1 in the second half before the Wildcats closed the gap.

West Central Valley lost its third straight game and dropped to 5-9 on the season.

The Mustangs played at Des Moines Christian on May 16.

They play North Polk at 5:30 p.m. on May 19 in Alleman.

PCM 5, Albia 2

ALBIA — Seebeck scored three goals, and junior Drew Johnson added a pair of goals during the PCM boys’ soccer team’s 5-2 victory over Albia on May 8.

Seebeck now has a team-high five goals, while Johnson improved his goal-scoring output to three on the season.

Newton 5, PCM 0

MONROE — The Newton Cardinals and host PCM Mustangs played to a scoreless tie through the first 24 minutes of a May 11 non-conference soccer match. After that, it was all Cardinals for a 5-0 victory.

GIRLS

Ballard 7, PCM 0

MONROE — Steph Knittel scored four goals and Jill Vanersvelde chipped in a goal and an assist to lead Ballard to a shutout win over the Mustang girls’ soccer team May 8.

PCM dropped to 0-8. Ballard is now 5-4.
