PCM seniors Jayci Vos and Kayla Jennings will play collegiately together at Des Moines Area Community College next season.

Before they get there, the Mustang duo picked up more postseason honors recently.

Vos and Jennings were both named to the Class 3A all-district team in the Central District.

A week later, Vos landed on the Iowa Girls Coaches Association first team all-state squad.

Jennings was a second team all-state selection.

PCM bounced back with an impressive 2017 season. The Mustangs finished tied for second in the HOIC and played one of the toughest schedules in 3A.

Vos and Jennings were at the forefront of the season. And both will play for the DMACC Bears next season.

Vos led the Mustangs (17-13) at the plate with a batting average of .472. She scored 39 runs, stole 18 bases and had 18 RBIs. Her on base percentage was .521.

Jennings was the second-best hitter for the Mustangs with an average of .416. She scored 15 runs and hit two home runs with 22 RBIs.

Jennings was the team’s No. 1 pitcher, too. She was 13-9 on the season with an ERA of 1.87. She struck out 139 batters in 142 1/3 innings pitched.
